HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF-
The first half started off physically, with Quinnipiac committing a foul that would give SPU a free kick, followed by the Peacocks gaining an offensive push that would have corners and a shot from
Tiernan Garvey that would go high.
The Bobcats would strike first in the third minute with a shot that went low left to give them the early lead.
Saint Peter's pushed through as they controlled the tempo with a shot from
Marcos De Elias and a corner that bounced off the Quinnipiac back line, leading to
Leo Coval shooting it at the crossbar, with McErlain getting a shot off the rebound that went low left and hit the back of the net.
For the rest of the half, the Peacocks hunkered down on the defensive end, not giving the Bobcats an inch of space, with only three shots allowed, two of them being blocked.
The half would end with a free kick for the Bobcats.
SECOND HALF-
SPU started off with a shot from
Marcos De Elias that went low and center and was then saved by Quinnipiac. Early in the half, the Bobcats were given a yellow card for a foul.
Samuel Rudjord attempted a shot that also went low and left and was again saved from the Bobcats, shortly after
Toby Smith would take his chance and miss high.
The Peacocks continued to apply the pressure offensively with a barrage of corners and shots, followed by their backline standing strong against the Bobcats counterattack; soon Quinnipiac would find the gap and find the net and take the lead at 2-1.
With Saint Peter's down, they continued to control the tempo as they pushed Quinnipiac till a penalty was given in favor of the Peacocks. It was McErlain who would get the tying goal to steal a point from the Bobcats.
The match ended with one last attempt from Quinnipiac, but they were unable to move it past the midfield.
