Saint Peter's Baseball Series Against Fairfield Pushed To Monday At Caven Point Due To Field Conditions And Weather

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's baseball series against Fairfield, slated to begin on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Caven Point, has been postponed due to field conditions and impending weather coming into the area from the Mid-Atlantic region. The two teams will now play a doubleheader on Monday at 1 p.m. at Caven Point.

Caven Point is located at 1 Caven Point Road, Jersey City, NJ 07305.

In the first game, Saint Peter's and Fairfield will play a nine-inning game on Monday at 1 p.m. with right-hander Zach Hopf (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge Township) taking the hill for the Peacocks and right-hander EJ Ashworth on the mound for the Stags. At the conclusion of the first game, the two teams will play a 7-inning affair with Mark Wilson (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) pitted against Aaron Howell. Game three is cancelled and will not be made up.

Saint Peter's took two of three last year at Fairfield, including rallying from a 7-2 deficit in the ninth for an 11-7 victory in the rubber match contest.

The Peacocks are coming off an 11-3 loss at Seton Hall on Thursday while the Stags are coming off an 8-5 loss at Hartford on Thursday.
