Butler Gets the Best of Baseball in Second Meeting in Florida

KISSIMMEE, FL – The Saint Peter's baseball team fell to Butler for the second time this season at Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee, FL. The Peacocks suffered a 19-1 defeat to the Bulldogs.

 

The bats never got going for the Peacocks as the team only connected on four hits in 31 plate appearances. Hunter Mason (Marlton, NJ / Cherokee) recorded the team's lone RBI in the top of the fourth inning when he hit a single to right field, scoring Nick Ciocco (Cherry Hill, NJ / Cherry Hill). Ciocco, Chris Marquart (Hackettstown, NJ / Morris Catholic), and Cole Robbins (Toms River, NJ / Toms River East) all logged one hit each in the game.

 

Right-handed junior pitcher Steve Epstein (Marlboro, NJ / Marlboro) got the starting nod for the Peacocks. Epstein (0-1) pitched 2.0 innings, picking up two strikeouts.

 

The Peacocks continue the neutral site series in Kissimmee, FL at Osceola County Stadium with meetings against UMass (March 3), Butler (March 4), and Pitt (March 6).

 

The Peacocks fall to 0-3 on the season. The Peacocks conclude action at the neutral site with their game with Pitt on Tuesday, March 6 at 11 a.m.
