Niagara takes Two from Baseball on Saturday

JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Saint Peter's baseball team suffered losses in both home games on Saturday to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) foe Niagara University. The Peacocks fell in game one, 18-5 and game two, 9-1.


Game 1

Nick Ciocco (Cherry Hill, NJ / Cherry Hill) led the Peacocks with a two-run homer in the game. Anthony Ramos (North Bergen, NJ / North Bergen) and Peter Ferony (West Milford, NJ / West Milford) each had a team-high of two hits in the contest with Ramos recording one RBI and one run scored while Ferony picked up two RBIs. Jared Quintero (Paterson, NJ / Passaic County Tech HS) tallied two runs and Eric Mercado (Bronx, NY / All Hallows) scored one.



Game 2

Angel Perez (Jersey City, NJ / Marist HS) had the best day at the plate in game two, going 3-for-4 and recording the team's lone RBI. Ramos, Ciocco, Tom Campo (Pine Beach, NJ / Toms River South), and Alex Slawinski (Carteret, NJ / Carteret) all logged hits in the game.


The Peacocks and Purple Eagles conclude the weekend series on Sunday at 12 p.m.
