JERSEY CITY, NJ – David Danzig joins the Saint Peter's University men's basketball coaching staff as an assistant, announced by head coach John Dunne.
"We are fortunate to add David to the coaching staff," said Dunne. "David brings a wealth of knowledge to our staff, and his experience with player development and scouting will benefit our players."
Last season, Danzig served as an assistant at St. Anthony's High School in Jersey City under Hall of Fame Coach, Bob Hurley. Danzig helped the Friars win the state title and complete an undefeated (32-0) season in the 2015-16 season.
Prior to working with Coach Hurley, Danzig served as a pro coach in the first league in Germany. He spent two seasons in Ludwigsburg, helping the team to the playoffs in both seasons, and one season in Wurzburg, helping the team to the league semifinals.
As a coach in Germany, Danzig focused on scouting and player development. He had the privilege to work with a number of talented players including many who had played in the NBA including: Coby Karl, DJ Kennedy and Jon Brockman.
Danzig has also coached at the high school level in San Francisco and Washington, D.C. He worked with Mission High School in San Francisco, helping the Bears win the city title in the 2012-13 season.
Danzig played point guard at Haverford College, an NCAA Division III school outside of Philadelphia.
