SIMSBURY, CT - The Saint Peter's University men's golf team finished the Ryan T. Lee Memorial in fourth place with a final score of (292-300=592, +16). Mike Winter (71-75=146, +3) led the Peacocks in the invitational finishing the two round tournament tied for ninth place.
"Today the conditions were harder," said head coach Nick Dilio. The wind was blowing, which made the course play tough. Our goal was to win the tournament, which meant we had to play aggressive. Knowing we were eight shots behind the leaders, this may have contributed to higher scores than yesterday but overall I thought we played well."
Jeffrey Peters (72-77=149, +5) and Jose Cardona (75-74=149, +5) followed Winter, shooting a 149 each. Stanley Garrant finished with a score of (74-77=151, +7), while David Powers shot a (79-74=153, +9).
Fordham finished as the team champion with a score of (284-290=574, +2). Bentley finished in second place with a score (291-294=585, +9) and Bryant finished in third shooting a (295-292=587, +11).
"Another fourth place finish is always good and to beat all the MAAC schools is a positive," added Dilio.
