JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Saint Peter's men's soccer team dropped Wednesday's home contest to Manhattan College by the score of 2-0. The Peacocks fall to 0-3 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) on the season.
The Peacocks outshot Manhattan 10-7 on the day, after logging three shots in the first half and seven in the second. The Peacocks also had a 5-4 shots on goal edge and 3-0 corner kick advantage in the contest.
Saint Peter's starting goalkeeper, Robbie Anderson, made two saves in 90 minutes of action. Santiago Mateus led the Peacocks with three shots, having two of them on goal, while Dominic Laws recorded two shots.
In the first half, Manhattan's goal came in the 29th minute on a throw in that resulted in an own goal after the ball deflected off of a Peacock defender. The second goal came in the 81st minute and it was scored by Brandon Joseph-Buadi.
The Peacocks head back on the road on Saturday, October 7 when the team travels to Western New York to face Niagara.
