JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University men's tennis team fell to the University of Delaware, 7-0, at home. The early morning match didn't help the Peacocks as they seemed sluggish all throughout the match.
Results - The men lost the doubles point, 2-0, because of clinch. Both No. 1, Andres-Sebastian Rojas and Ivan Knezevic, and No. 2, Gabriel Russotto and Cuong Lam, fell by identical scores of 6-2. No. 1 lost to Colin Wong and Tyler Flematti and No. 2 lost to Blaise Casselbury and Laurenz Lankes. Jonathan Paredes and Douglas Nover were down 4-3 to Roy Cheng and Dominick Perez before they abandoned the match at No. 3. Knezevic fought hard but fell at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-1, to Lankes. No. 2, Rojas, and No. 3, Nover, both took injury timeouts during their match but were able to play out the match. Rojas fell 6-1, 6-1 to Wong while Nover was defeated 6-0, 6-0 by Casselbury. At No. 4, Russotto, lost 6-2, 6-0 to Flematti. Paredes lost to Perez by the same score line of Rojas, 6-1, 6-1, at the fifth position. Lam played well but fell short in both sets, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 6 against Luis Marcano.
