RIVERDALE, NY - The Saint Peter's University softball team dropped a doubleheader to Manhattan on Wednesday, falling 5-0 in the first game and 6-0 in the second. The Peacock's overall record moves to 2-22 and their MAAC record is 1-8.
"These girls do a lot more than what the scoreboard says," said head coach Chris Stelma. "We have players still diving for balls in the hole, trying to run through fences to make plays and most importantly supporting each other on the field."
Saint Peter's started Alyssa Ruiz who pitched six innings giving up three hits. Offensively, the Peacocks played hard as they were able to get six hits. The Saints shutout Saint Peter's, winning the game 6-0.
Tiffany Lambert led the pitchers allowing only two hits and two strikeouts. It was a short game for the Peacocks as they were not able to get any hits. The Jaspers won the game 6-0.
The Peacocks will play Ivy League School, Columbia University in a doubleheader matchup on April 13. The first game will start promptly at 3pm.
