Akron Tops Women's Tennis in First Ever Meeting

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's Women's tennis team fell to Akron University, 7-0. The loss marks the 7th straight loss for the Peacocks and they own an overall record of 1-9.

 

Results - Lucia Radovic and Malieva Hedberg dropped a close No.1 doubles match to Ariadna Blinova and Shannon Newnes 6-4. Elena Melian Puigventos and Claudia Hellman lost to Carla Flores and Carli Knezevich 6-0. Aidah Muhammad and Azuri Hughes fell to Luisa Echeverry and Waverly Wituski, 6-1, at No. 3 doubles. In the Singles portion, Lucia Radovic fell at No. 1 against Ariadna Blinova 6-0, 6-2. At No. 2, Elena Melian Puigventos was defeated 6-0, 6-0 against Luisa Echeverry. Malieva Hedberg dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision at No. 3 against Carli Knezevich. For the 4th flight, Claudia Hellman lost to Shannon Newnes 6-1, 6-1. Stephanie Falcon played at No. 5 and surrendered a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Carla Flores. Christian Resurreccion fell to Waverly Wituski 6-0, 6-2.
