Columbia Tops Women's Tennis

NEW YORK CITY, NY - The Saint Peter's women's tennis team began their 2018 portion of the season with a 7-0, setback against the Columbia Lions. The team's overall record drops to 0-4 on the season.


Doubles Results - The Peacocks were only able to field two teams at No. 1 and No. 2. doubles. The top flight duo of Stephanie Falcon and Azuri Hughes were defeated 6-0 by Sarah Hu and Jennifer Kerr. Aidah Muhammad and Marta Ortega were able to get one game but were defeated, 6-1, by Andrea Kevakian and Renee Ren at No. 2.


Singles Results - The team began singles play down 2-0 aftering having to default No. 6 singles. Unfortunately, no players were able to win a game in any set. Falcon lost to Kerr at the top singles position. Hughes was defeated by Hu at No. 2. No. 3, Muhammad, fell to Ren. Ortega was dropped by Sarah Rahman at No. 4. Jennifer Guilherme suffered a defeat to Brianna Williams at No. 5.


Up Next - Saint Peter's University women's tennis team returns home on Sunday, January 28, at 2pm. LIU Brooklyn will be the opponent across the net in the Yanitelli Recreational Life Center Bubble.
